Raised as a farmer in the San Joaquin Valley. Moved to Alaska with my husband, Conrad, an Alaskan war veteran, in 1954. Son, Tim, born in 1960.
TV and science teacher, director of Native education, and school principal in Anchorage for 3 decades. Continued as an active community volunteer and gardener after moving to our property in the Homer hills in 1983. Recently inducted into the Alaska Women's Hall of Fame
