Favorite Places in Alaska: The raspberry patch at Seaside Farm in Homer, Alaska. Here the smell of salty ocean air, puschki, young foreign travelers, children, horses, and raspberries all mix together. In the patch juicy berries stain my hands and remind me I have earned my food honestly and that matters

Bio: Andrea Van Dinther has written columns for the Homer News, she is an eco-tour guide with extensive experience through out Canada and Mexico. She has guided Polar Bear trips in Churchill, Manitoba since 1999. Her latest adventure includes working on her MFA in creative writing at UAA. Her experience as a naturalist and mother of three wild children seeps into almost all of her writing. Adventure travel combined with writing is one of her favorite recipes. Let one stew -for a bit- outdoors and the creative juices can't help but flow.

Please contact me for readings, workshops, classes and outdoor writing workshops.
I work with university and community writers.
