Favorite Places in Alaska: I moved to Fairbanks in 1985, and have always considered it my Alaska home, though since 1988 have lived in Juneau, Sitka, Nome, Juneau again, and Anchorage.
Bio: A 25-year Alaska resident, Ken Waldman has an MFA in Creative Writing from University of Alaska Fairbanks and has been an assistant professor at University of Alaska campuses in Sitka and Nome. He has six full-length poetry collections, a memoir, a children's book, and nine CDs that combine Appalachian-style string-band music with original poetry and Alaska-set storytelling. He's been a visiting writer at over 80 colleges and universities. Touring as Alaska's Fiddling Poet, he's visited over 200 schools in 31 states, and plays a wide variety of concert series, performing arts series, and festivals.
